Music Video Completed

We added a few final touches to the video such as Scott Garcia's name, the song title and our record label. Which are all important features of a real music video and we wanted to make it look as realistic as possible

Journal Editing | 30.01.14

To make the strobe lighting effect you take to take the whole clip and then make lots of equal cuts to it by using the slice tool
Slice off what you don't want and then separate each small clip using an equal space each time, this will give a strobe lighting effect

We wanted to make each individual clip a different colour (after this suggestion from audience feedback) so to do this we went on the three way colour corrector and picked different colours on here
This is the effect it gives. We've given each clip a completely different colour for a dance/techno feel

Journal Filming the Club scene | 24.01.14

Today we filmed the club scene, the final chunk of our music video. As planned we used the drama room due to the black walls and the ability to manipulate it into looking like a club. For the DJ area we used the mini stage for Scott Garcia to stand on and for the DJ table we stacked two half cylinder blocks on top of each other. We then put disco lights on it and got a keyboard from music to replicate the DJ decks. Jack the media technician helped us set up the lighting to look authentic.
As you can see from the pictures we had quite a small amount of people but pushed them all closely together and framed the shot tightly to make it look busy and crowded. We used glow sticks and plastic wine glasses to make the scene look more realistic.

First Screening feedback

We screened our music video and digipak & posters for the first time today and these were our responses.

Overall we got a really good response to all of our work. Both the video, even though it's not completed, and the Digipak/Poster got very positive responses with someone saying "Everything" about it was good. Someone even said "Best posters and digipaks ever". The only changes we got were to add in some colour to the strobe lighting to make it more 'mental', hold the shots of the rabbit signs longer and upping the contrast on my digipak to make it less flat.

Journal Shooting | 15.01.14

Today the group went out to film some more footage for our video. We filmed on the streets in the area, sticking up the 'No Rabbits Allowed' signs in different locations to show that rabbits are widely unaccepted in society. We plan to have these shots altogether with quick cuts to show the mass of them.

We also filmed the bit where the rabbit finds the "Eskobar" poster on the floor which leads to the club scene. We will edit these clips today and tomorrow in time for the first screening of our music videos
