When the song starts in the video Britney spears goes straight into a dance routine which is already a typical pop genre characteristic. We can also see that she is wearing quite revealing clothing, and this continues throughout with a lot of her skin such as stomach and legs being on show, this could be related to the notion of looking and the way that a woman's body is treated voyeuristically. As this was Britney's first music video as would be expected there is a lot of close ups on her face to get the audience familiar with her appearance as confirm her as the artist. Britney is also at the front of all the dance routines which shows her to be the main focus of the video, the audience will be focused on her.
Another way this video fits into the Goodwin theory is that the music and videos correspond, so the dance moves would correspond to the beat of the music making it flow and look professional. Not only this but later on in the video the lyrics also correspond to the visuals, when the lyric 'oh baby baby I shouldn't have let you go' is sung the video shows Britney longingly looking at a guy suggesting that this is who she is singing the song about. It could be said that songs about love are quite common of the pop genre too.
